Meet the Developers!

Our story begins in high school, where we noticed a similar instinct in each other while bonding over projects that bridged our dreams of how the world could be with lived realities. We knew young that there was nothing quite like the strange joy of world-building side by side. Years later, Bioregion grew from the same spirit: a desire to make something rooted, imaginative, playful, and alive. We’re building this game to facilitate attention to the plants around us, so we all can learn the stories of our local landscapes and fall a little more in love with the places we call home.

we built bioregion out of a simple observation: most people move through landscapes without ever really seeing them. Most relate to the plants in their ecosystems as background scenery or infrastructure.

bioregion is an attempt to shift that.

Plants operate in fascinating, almost magical ways, If only we stopped to notice and understand them.

Bioregion aims to turn ecosystems into interactive systems— to push us to stop, notice, identify, and engage with what’s already there. not by adding something artificial, but by revealing the magic that we have lost touch with.

the goal isn’t to learn names or get better at plant identification. it’s to build a different kind of attention...slower, more relational, and rooted in place. where we build enduring relationships with the plants that make up our home.

once you start seeing this way, the landscape doesn’t look the same again.
